With a passion for the camera and an eye for capturing that perfect moment, award-winning photographer Dave Cooper is one of southwestern Ontario’s most acclaimed visual artists.

After a successful career with Bell Canada, Dave transitioned a life-long hobby into a full time pursuit, graduating from the New York Institute of Photography and focusing on a wide bandwidth of photographic techniques.

Bridging a background in classic film and dark room developing with cutting-edge digital photography, Dave has excelled at capturing the mood, the beauty and the passion of people and places from around the world. He is always armed with his trusty Canon equipment and has an unquenchable thirst for integrating the latest technology into his workflow (Lightroom, Photoshop, Photomatrix, and Canon Digital Photo Professional). Be it a special event or an untouched wildscape; a traditional headshot or an animal’s portrait, Dave is always on the lookout for the next great shot.

His photographic journey has taken him to every corner of North America and around Europe, with his images being shared across social media and published in news periodicals and magazines, such as Photo News Canada. And his work has earned numerous recognitions, including winning the 2010 Photolab contest and being selected for one of Aperture Academy’s Photograph of the Day awards.

When at home, Dave resides in Tillsonburg, Ontario, with his wife, Marjorie, and dedicates his spare time to mentoring up-and-coming photographers, as well as advancing his passion project: Headstone Photographs of the Oxford County Cemeteries, a localized genealogy and family ancestry database.
